Stress & Uncertainty Go Hand-In-Hand
During times like these, we think that the biggest misconception is that we’re all in this alone. What’s worse is we think that how we’re feeling is wrong and maybe, just maybe, that we’re the only ones feeling or acting in a certain way. So, we did a little research, and here is what we found:
Nearly 45% of adults in the U.S. report that their mental health has been negatively impacted and are feeling any or all of these:
Fear and worry about your own health and the health of your loved ones
Changes in sleep or eating patterns
Difficulty sleeping or concentrating
Worsening of chronic health problems
Worsening of mental health conditions
Increased use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs
Healthy Ways to Cope
According to the CDC – here are a few ways to cope with the stress of it all:
Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories, including social media. Hearing about the pandemic repeatedly can be upsetting.
Take care of your body by:
Taking deep breaths, stretch, or meditate (yessssss!)
Try to eat healthy, well-balanced meals
Exercise regularly
Get plenty of sleep
Limit alcohol and avoid the use of tobacco, or other drugs
Make time to unwind and do some activities you enjoy
